We got to try several local restaurants while in Clinton and the Gristmill was definitely my favorite. The parking lot was PACKED on Saturday morning (always a good sign). The interior reminded me of the restaurants I went to as a kid in small-town NC. Everything was sturdy and well kept. Nothing flashy or fancy. All their money going back into the business is on the food and the people. I ordered a three egg omelette and some cheese grits. Everything came out hot and fresh and delicious. I could tell that the eggs came out of shells in the back instead of out of a carton... And, equally important to me, everything was served with a smile from my waitress. Would definitely go back there if ever in Clinton again. ”
